The slaughterhouse as data source for monitoring programmes of cattle

To understand the population dynamic of the Swiss cattle population and the distribution of the slaughter animals to the slaughterhouses, the data of the animal movement database (AMD) is used to build a population model and analyze the network characteristic of the Swiss cattle industry. Furthermore the possibility of sampling pre-determined animals in the slaughterhouse, using an algorithm that attributes every cattle a daily actualized status (include in sample or not) is evaluated.
