Continuing Education

The Institute is involved in various teaching and training activities in the context of epidemiology, statistics and veterinary public health.

We also offer module courses in epidemiology and biostatistics to graduate students (University of Bern Graduate Schools) and other interested colleagues, and teach monitoring and surveillance-related topics within the veterinary services continuing education modules (coordinated by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office).

There are 2 to 4 residents-in-training within the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH) residency program.

The VPHI seminar provides an open forum for presenting own but also other (external) research projects to a wider audience.

Along with the MCID, the VPHI proposes a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in One Health, a continuing education programme targeted at professionals working in One Health-relevant positions, particularly in environmental, plant, animal, and human health, agronomy, social and humanities sciences, economics, and law. Registrations open in November 2024.
