The project included the evaluation of importing companies and exporting boar studs involved in terms of their import practices, additional requirements and monitoring schemes. With this data, a quantitative risk assessment is conducted to determine the likelihood of a semen dose to be positive for PRRSV when imported to Switzerland, and infect a Swiss sow herd..
