A high degree of animal movements and sharing of alpine pastures by cows from different herds is common practice in Switzerland. Those aspects of Swiss dairy farming are thought to have a large influence on udder health. The aim of this project is to simulate the dynamics of mastitis causing pathogens within- and between dairy herds and to identify cost-effective intervention strategies at the herd and national level.
